Display Case
A jewelry display case is not commonly
found in most homes. A typical woman will collect quite an array of
jewelry over the years. In fact, many have so much that there are just
not enough days in the year to wear them all. Whether costume or pure
gold, many of these items wind up in a messy heap.
Some collectors visit antique stores and estate sales to find the
perfect merchandise to add to their collection of costume and fine
jewels. These collectors may benefit from buying a jewelry display case
to show off their wonderful collections of jewels. The item usually
found in a store front can also be introduced to home décor
for the avid collector.
However, many ordinary people can benefit from owning a jewelry display
case as well. You can choose one that suits your particular collection
whether it is impressive or whether it is thin. It is important to
remember that there are many different kinds of jewelry display cases
so you have many options.
I have a very humble collection of old costume jewelry that I really
don’t wear. I like clean lines and minimal sparkle so many of
these items are simply too much for me to wear. However, I am fond of
looking at the costume jewels and I hate to tuck them away in a box. I
chose a small, wooden jewelry display case to show off my tiny
collection. It makes a wonderful conversation piece.
There are metal jewelry display cases available as well. Though I found
the metal version very attractive I thought that the wooden one would
be better suited for antiques. Others find the metal version to be a
wonderful contrast to the old jewels as well. It is simply a matter of
taste.
Another thing to remember when using this type of item for your
valuables is the arrangement. Too many items in any display can make
the entire presentation look over crowded and messy. This is not a
commercial arrangement so you shouldn’t look to your local
jeweler’s set up as inspiration.
I love my little jewelry display case. The only complaint I have is
fingerprints but they can be addressed with relative ease. The unique
idea is one that I plan to continue as my meager collection grows.
With minor upkeep and a little innovation, my jewelry display case has
become one of the drawing forces for nearly all of my visitors. I find
the object to be one that is suitable for big collections as well as
humble ones like mine.
