Lawn
Announcements
People use lawn announcements for all sorts of communication needs. If
a home is for sale, if a particular political party is supported by a
household, or if a yard sale is taking place, lawn announcements are
the preferred method for getting the word out. These handy signs can be
hand-lettered or pre-purchased in most local stores. Messages can be
generic or customized and can take any shape or form, and be in any
color or material that is likely to withstand typical weather
conditions. Lawn announcements can also be used as warnings regarding
guard dogs, lawn treatments and chemical usage. They can also be used
to advertise items for sale or any message that someone wishes to
convey to the community.
We've had a couple of yard sales in the past. We used lawn
announcements to alert our neighbors and people driving by, that we
were having a sale. We also spread our signs throughout town, nailing
and stapling them to signposts that seemed to be in the public eye.
This form of advertising has always proved to be very successful for us
and for neighbors who have also used lawn announcements to get the word
out.
Even small businesses use this method to alert people to news. If there
is a new job opening, a new appointment or even a retirement, this form
of signage can alert people to the change. Schools also use this type
of messaging to alert parents to report card time, parent-teacher
interviews and other information that parents and students need to
know. Stores in the community can advertise special deals by placing
the information on lawn signage. Churches and community centers can
raise memberships by notifying the public of upcoming events as well.
So too, if a pet has been lost in the area, people can post signs
alerting neighbors to watch out for the pet, listing a description of
the animals markings and the name it may come to.
Lawn announcements are an excellent way to get any message out to
neighbors and passersby. All sorts of information can be conveyed in
this method, resulting in everything from increased sales, to
protection of property. The key things to remember are to make sure
lettering is clear and legible, that the material used to make the sign
is sturdy and durable, and that the sign is positioned in such a way
that the greatest number of people can easily read the information.
